    Summary/Objective

     

    This is a management position which will be closely monitored and mentored by the Business Unit Manager.  The purpose of this position is to be the subject line specialist for an individual production line, ensure that safety, quality and performance standards are met daily and ensure the proper production input is performed in an accurate and timely manner. 

     

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions

     

    Primary activities include, but are not limited to:

    1. Ensure safe working procedures are followed
    2. Train/Cross train production team members
    3. Maintain product quality standards
    4. Achieve KPI standards
    5. Minimize production downtime
    6. Minimize production waste
    7. Lead the investigation of production/quality losses to determine root cause
    8. Resolve personnel problems among team members
    9. Participate in the recruiting and hiring process
    10. Conduct disciplinary actions
    11. Report mechanical issues to Maintenance and Production Manager
    12. Ensure compliance with GMP’s
    13. Communicate with production team members
    14. Complete safety audits daily and weekly
    15. Coach team members consistent with baker’s values
    16. Lead the continuous improvement initiatives for the department
    17. Build and nurture a customer/supplier relationship with the maintenance, quality and warehouse departments

    Supervisory Responsibility

     

    This position manages all employees of the department.

     

    Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    1. Experience managing all aspects of a production line
    2. Ability to motivate production line team members
    3. Knowledge of computer based spreadsheets and reporting
    4. Self-starter with the ability to learn quickly and take directions
    5. Strong analytical skills
    6. Ability to lead and coach for improvement
    7. Good organizational skills and detail-oriented
    8. Responsible, dependable and trustworthy
    9. Excellent verbal communication, training, and written skills
    10. Ability to multi-task
    11. Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma or TMP preferred

    Required Education and Experience

    1. Bachelor’s Degree preferred
    2. Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or foreman experience, preferably in a commercial bakery
